For some reason people think that making money on YouTube is easy. People think that all you have to do is make videos and then you make money. This is far from the truth and I think people look at this big time YouTubers thinking it’s easy and it’s not. In some places you may come across someone on YouTube making a lot of money in a short amount of time which does happen but not all the time. What you don’t see is the hard work to produce the content and edit the content and the amount of time it takes. You must remember when starting a new YouTube channel, we all start from zero. So it takes time to build anything you do online. YouTube to me is a long term asset that can make you money while you sleep but you have to put un the work first.
Right now at the time of writing this blog post I have 810 videos on YouTube. My videos don’t get a lot of views and I am a very small YouTuber. I publish 3 videos per week, every week without missing a beat. I was doing 1 video per day but I don’t have time to edit all of those videos so doing 3 per week is a nice balance for me and working 40 hours per week and having a family. Safe to see I am always busy doing something. I think the hardest part about making videos is coming up with the content The content is what people are watching and you must give them a reason to watch you and follow you. This is hardest part for me anyone so it’s not easy with YouTube by any means.
I have always said that the more content you have to more money you will make. So not only you have to publish content, come up with the content, edit the content, you must product a lot of content and product content on a regular basis. It’s almost like having a full time job but it’s not cause you are the boss. If you work full time right now, well it’s makes it hard to produce content like you want to.
Yes to build passive income is to build an asset and having a YouTube channel is a great asset that can make you money while you sleep. You can more than one channel if you want to. I have my make money/ save money channel but also I have a gaming channel right now that I am building on. The gaming channel is not making money right now but I keep producing content if will and that will be two different streams of income.
So no it’s not easy making money on YouTube but if you work hard and produce content, you will make it.
