Starting out new with driving with Uber is fun and you plan on making money on the side or doing this full time but are some things, tips and tricks to know to make your driving for uber better and worthwhile. There is a learning curve with driving for Uber even though the work is easy. I drive on Friday nights and Saturday nights and sometimes during the day. The first thing I would say is that driving for uber is not bad at all. It’s pretty easy, all you are doing is following the GPS, picking up the person or people, follow the GPS to their place where they want to go, that’s it.
Some tips and tricks for Uber:
The first thing I would is to know the busy areas on where you live? Where are all the bars at? Where are all the business are at? People will be going to these places so that’s where I would target first. Next Check out what’s going in the city. What’s happening, any events going on and what are people talking about online for the weekend. Those are the places well be the spots I would hit first. In my case I drive to the city where people hang out at to find work. If you live in or near a city the best thing you can do is turn on Uber or go online right from home. Sometimes you may get a customer while at home which will save you time and gas. If you can get a ride while at home then you can use the restroom and go.
For some reason after 1 hour and a half I have to use the restroom. I don’t know why but I do. So it’s a good idea to use the restroom before you drive, maybe not to drink a lot of water before you drive and know the area you are driving in some you can find a restroom when you can. If you need a break, go offline to take a break. You all know we should keep your cars clean, wash our cars and it have our cars smelling good. Have a car mount for your phone is very key to making money with Uber and also a car charger for you and your customers.
Always be nice and speak to your guess when entering your car and talk to your customer. Ask them how their day was, ask them what they do for a living and take it from there. Depending on how they talk to you will tell you to ask more questions and talk to them more. I see when I engage in talking and it’s a good talk, they most likely will leave a tips for you. So I try to talk to your person when I drive. You might someone who is going though something and need to talk to someone and that might be you. I met someone going though things with their wife and I talked to him about and give some advice, it was a great talk. Talking to people also makes time go faster as well.
We all know that you should fill up your car with gas. But did you also know that you should be using 2 apps for gas. The first app is called the gas up side gas app. The gas up side gas app will give you cash back at select gas stations. The gas station on my app is BP. So you get the app, you select one of the gas stations that is near you, you go there and get gas and make sure you that you use your debit or credit card. Do not use cash. Link up your debit card to the card. Once you buy your gas, you should be good to go as long as you link your card to the app. Or you may need to take a picture of your gas receipt. I have been using this app for one year and I have made $198.90 from just getting gas. Please you keep all gas receipts, please keep all car wash receipts, and please keep any receipts were you had to get your car fixed. All these are needed for taxes. Keep a nice amount of air in your tires to save on gas. Keep your car clean inside and out. Go the extra mile for people. Sometimes I pick up people and they had put in the wrong address and their home is a block up and 5 mins away. I always help them out and take them where that got to go. One time I helped a elder lady place your groceries in the truck of my car and then when we got to her placed I helped carrier them to her place, so go the extra mile for people and help people when you can.
Now paying tolls if you have them in your city will save you time but it will cost you money. Uber you pay you back your toll money but it is a good idea to get an easy pass to save time. Getting paid from uber is easy, I believe you can get paid the same day. I picked to get paid once per week and what’s cool is that I work the weekend and get paid that following Tuesday which is nice.
