Sometimes being or running a YouTube channel can be a full time job and sometimes it’s hard to stay consistent on YouTube. Getting views, making videos, making thumbnails and using the right keyword is just some of the work that needs to be done on YouTube. I think the hardest thing to do is come up with all the content for your YouTube channel.
I have been on YouTube and making videos for the past 5 years and I have some strategies that can help you stay consistent on YouTube for the long haul. Keep this in mind, YouTube is a long term game and it can take a long time before you see any views or money to your channel. So hard work pays off in the long run.
What is a good strategy to stay consistent on YouTube?
The first thing that I would say is to pick a topic that you know a lot about. Many people say this because YouTube is a long term game so you need to have content for years to come. You need to be answering questions and helping people on YouTube. Those are the evergreen content that people talk about. If I change the oil in a 2017 Honda, that video will be evergreen because people in the future may buy this car used and it’s info that people want. 10 years from now, someone may want to change their oil in this car and they may find my video. So content like that can have a great long term effect.
I would make a schedule for posting content. This is the best tip I tell people. Make it easy on yourself and plan how many videos are you going to publish to YouTube. For me I do 3 videos per week and I publish them on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week. With YouTube you can time stamp your videos meaning I can make a video right now and schedule that video for Monday of next week. Once that date and time hits the video will be live for me without me having to hit the publish button. If you can all do 2 videos per week that is fine. Here’s what you can do to stay consistent on YouTube.
If you are doing 2 videos per week or you want to do 2 videos per week, I would shoot 8 videos in one day. Then schedule out all 8 videos, 2 per week which will be the whole month of content. With the month of videos done and schedule out in the future, you can do other things, you can write down other videos that you want to do, you can shoot more videos for the next month or take a break.
I like to shoot more videos during the week and then take one day to schedule out all the content. Now I have a nice cushion of content and more time to come up with ne content to do. while I am not making videos, I will be writing down anything new that I want to do. I try to have 8 or 9 videos that I want to do and I make all the videos at one time on one day.
I am 3 month ahead of content already schedule out Monday, Wednesday and Friday of every week for 3 months. Now since I have some time, I will find new videos to make by having topics then writing them down. By the time the 1st month of content is publish on YouTube I will have 10 videos that I want to do. By scheduling out content, I have more free time and I think it’s the best way to stay consistent on YouTube.
If you are just starting out on YouTube, I would pick a posting schedule first, how many videos are you going to do per month, is it 2 or 3 or 4 videos per week. Once you have that number, once you set up your YouTube channel, I would make a lot of videos from the start. Shoot for 10 videos if you can and then schedule them out. It make take some time but do the work first and trickle your videos out over time. This is the best way to stay consistent on YouTube and this way you don’t have to worry about not having content to share.

This will help with your content ideas for videos and I love using https://www.quora.com/ because people are asking questions that they can’t find online or YouTube and you can make a video helping them out.
This is some good strategies to stay consistent on YouTube, over time while making videos you will come up with your own strategy for YouTube that can be better than this and you just have to put the work in and over time you will change the way you make videos, you will change the way you shoot videos and your videos will be better.
