I wish I can turn back the hands of time and do things different at 24 years old. The information I will talk about in this blog post will be the same thing I will tell my son when he gets older. This info I will tell anyone young that needs some direction to follow. Starting a business is just one part of the whole system to set up.
Now I have a family and work full time so my time to do things is very limited. It makes me think what I should have done at 24 or younger so in this post, I will go over what business I would have done but also things I should have started and things I should have invested in when I was 24 years old.

What is a good business to start at 24?
At 24 years old you can try anything. You have time to learn and have time to recoup anything that you messed up, not saying you will mess up. The first thing I should have done at 24 years old is start a gaming YouTube channel or any YouTube channel. I was very into gaming during that time and I like to watch other people stream their gameplay online so I should not started my own channel. Just think if I produce content every week for the next for the next 5 years, where would I be today. Not only start 1 YouTube channel but I could have had 3 YouTube channels at one time and producing videos in my free time. Just think at 24 making videos for 6 years, now your are 30 years old and maybe making money.
So start a YouTube channel and help people out with their problems. If you don’t know what to start, then learn something that you already want to learn about and as you learn, you can do videos. Starting a YouTube channel is free and doesn’t take a lot of time and you can do this right after work. I was home alone and had the time to do so but I didn’t think about. If you are nervous about being on camera, you can make videos without showing your face but you being nervous is something you need to work on think about this. If you back was against the wall and you had to make video to eat, would you? Over time you will get over making videos and be better at doing it.
The next thing that I should have done is start this blog or start a blog. Blogging is a great way to make money and passive income. Blogging does not take a lot of to write content but it does take time to rank on Google. But at 24 years old, you have time. Blogging can take 5 hours per week and you can post 2 blog post per week. Blogging can be done from home or on your phone.
I follow John chow and he makes over $100,000 per month from his blog. I have seen people post their earning on how much they make online from blogging and they make a full time income from their blog. I use WordPress for this blog and WordPress has a schedule feature where you can time stamp a blog post to go live in the future. So if you write 8 blog post in one day, with WordPress you can schedule them out though one month and have 2 post go live per week. So now you are free for the month and since it take a while your blog to rank, that’s ok cause in the meantime you are writing more content and shooting videos.
I brought my first house when I was 24 years old. I only paid $100,000 for the house which was a great deal cause the bank wanted $135,000 for it. The first mistake I had was not putting more money toward paying it off. I had PMI to pay that is included on the payment. I should had put more money toward the house payment to pay off the PMI, if I did that long ago that would have took off $80 of my house payment.
Next I would have gotten a cheaper house. When you are 24 and buying a house, your first house is not your dream house for some people. The cheaper you can get it, the faster you can pay it off. I would get a cheap house in a nice area and try my best to pay it off. Use your blogging income and YouTube income to pay it off.
While you are doing all of that, the last thing you should be doing is building up a side business. Whatever you are good at, should be the thing you do. You can cut hair, cut grass, change oil and fix things around the home, these things can be a side hustle. Start selling something, start a company that does something.
What is needed where you live? What is something that people will pay for in your area? How about washing house on the side? Look around and see what’s needed. If you can cook a nice cake, start selling cakes. All these thing in this post are the things I wish I had done a long time ago. I also should had started buying dividend paying stocks back then. You can do that as well. Just think every time you get paid and you buy 3 dividend paying stocks for the next 5 years? Plant seeds today so they can grow over time.
