One of the bets part about starting a blog is picking what niche that you want to write about. This can be a fun time or a time where you don’t know what to talk or write about. I have run different blogs and made a lot of mistake along the way and picking a niche is a long term thing that you must do.

The niche you pick should stay on topic of the blog so it’s always a good thing to pick a niche that you know a lot about and you can see yourself talking about it and writing about it for a long time. So it’s good to pick something that is easy for you to write but over time you may want to pick a different niche in the same blog or multiple niches on the same blog so is that a good idea or not?

Should I start a blog with one niche or with multiple niches?

The short answer is no, you should not write about different niches on your blog. Here’s what happens to some bloggers, they pick a niche that they like and over time they have written everything about that niche and now they don’t have anything to write about now.

So they will write about something that is not related to the blog just for content and I understand why people do this. They want the content for their readers but they ran out of things to write about they write about something different. Well this is my thought, bloggers should not change the niche on their site. The search engines know what you blog is about and when different topic for them and your readers, it’s just hard to know what you are talking about.

If you are blogging about cooking, you should just write about cooking and not how to change oil in a car. People comes to your blog for certain info and when you go a different path it may hurt you in the long run. This is why you pick something that you can write about all the time. So how can we write about other things or different types of niche without changing the over blog content.

Don’t box yourself in with your niche:

When picking a niche, don’t box yourself in. for example if you was talking about the stock market which has a lot of different topics to talk about. Try talking about passive income, this why you can write about the stock market and anything that deals with business and owning assets.

Another example can be cooking, just don’t talk about one type of food like keto, you can talk about all food which will help you with writing more content over time. So don’t box yourself in with a topic that you can’t expand on.
