Well if you are a dividend investor, than you should not be worry about the stock price going up or down. What we want is cash flow from dividends and your profit is from the dividend, not selling that stock. I am not giving you any advice on the stock market. you can sell a stock to make a profit if you are in the red.
That means that if you sell your dividend stock while in the red, you will lose money. If you are investing just in dividends than you should not be selling your dividend stocks at all. We buy and hold for cash flow. The only profit that you should be worry about is your dividend payment and making sure that the company that you invest in pays that dividend payment on time. One of my stock, I am down -$700 right now. Yes if I sell right now, I will take a lose but they are paying me that 10 cents per share per month and that’s all I want for the long term so as long as they pay me my dividend, I don’t care about being in the red.
