The quick answer is no, you do not have to be a expert in a niche to start a blog, in fact I would say just start the blog after you picked your niche or topic to write about. Please keep in mind that any niche that you pick, that niche tends to change over time and you have to keep learning in that niche in order to stay in the game. Things that I like or talk about changes over time as well so the info will change over time.
The way things are going now at the speed that it goes, I can say that every 3 years things change for the better. Tech gets better and faster and people change the ways of doing old stuff into new stuff over time. With these changes should you even start a blog? Yes you should and below I will tell you why.
Do you have to be an expert in a niche to start a blog?
no and you should start with that blog today and keep this in mind. It takes Google a long time to rank your blog post into Google so the longer you take on picking a niche and writing a blog post, the longer you will see results but I am not trying to rush you and you take some time to pick a niche to talk about and set up your blog ASAP. I have a bowling blog called https://rotogrip.org/ and on this blog, I write about bowling and how to bowl better and what tools and tricks that I use to be a good bowler.
I am not a pro bowler, I just have been bowling for a long time and I did bowl 2 800 games in the past which is hard to do but I never bowled a 300 games but came close twice with 2 290 games. In the first frame I got a 9 pins and picked up the ten pin for the spare and then strike all the way out.
So I am not an expert in bowling and bowling is changes in the way people bowl and the way today bowling balls are being made. By me bowling all the time and been bowling for about 6 years now, I have learned a lot of things that I can write about on my blog that some people may not know. The goal for any blog is to help people and to people who do not know how to bowl, when they see me they think that I am a pro but am not.
The more I bowl, the more I learn and with that learning I can write about something that I learned to help people. Someone who comes to my blog, you will that I know a lot of things about bowling to help them without me being a pro bowler. It is good to be in your niche most of the time cause you don’t want to be out of touch on what’s going on. On this YouTube channel I talk about the stock market and how I am making money with buying dividend paying stocks. I am not a expert at buying or selling stocks and I don’t give any advice on buying or selling stocks. What I do is show people how I buy stocks, why I buy the stocks that I have and what’s my end goal. I teach people that we all need another income stream besides out jobs to pay bills and we can’t rely on juts having a job so I talk about how dividend investing can build you passive income stream.
I am not a stock expert and I don’t know everything about the stock market and some things about the stock market I just don’t know about. I just started buying dividend paying stocks to see if this thing works and it does and while I was doing that I was learning more and more about dividend paying stocks and I made some mistakes that I wish I knew before I started but on my channel I tell people about so they can avoid what I did in this past.
I know some stuff about the stock market but I am still learning so when I learn something I tend to make a new video about it and I try it for myself first to see if this new things works and if it does work and it does not work, I can talk about and what to do.
The main that that you need to do is pick a niche that you know a lot about or something that you want to learn and go write that first blog post. While in that niche you should be learning everyday and to write about that every day. The main point to this blog post is to get you started on that blog and you don’t have to be an expert in that niche, just if you willing to learn and willing to be in that niche all time will play a key role on your blog content. The you post, the better your chances to get rank in google and the more traffic you will get.
